Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan

Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (English: Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College), also known as MSPSBS, Maktab Sains or simply MS, is a secondary school in Brunei Darussalam. It is named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien III. To gain admission to the school, students must earn straight A’s in their Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR). The school takes pride in its academic performance in the country, especially in the science stream. The school takes active part in international as well as national science competitions such as the Australian National Chemistry Quiz as well as the University of Toronto National Biology Competition. The school has also been known to be active in extracurricular activities. It has won several competitions such as the Creativity, Enrichment and Research Development for Advanced Students (CERDAS) Project held by the Ministry of Education. Many of the members of the Brunei’s royal family attended Maktab Sains. HRH Prince Prince Abdul Mateen received his secondary education at the school. The wife of the Crown Prince of Brunei, HRH Pengiran Anak Sarah, was also educated at the school before graduating in 2005.
